Bhubaneswar, Feb 26: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed deep grief at the demise of former Chief Minister Hemananda Biswal and former Deputy Minister (Home) and MLA from Angul, Debaraj Sahu.
In a condolence message, the Chief Minister has described Late Biswal as an efficient and popular leader.
ପୂର୍ବତନ ମୁଖ୍ୟମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ତଥା ବରିଷ୍ଠ ରାଜନେତା ହେମାନନ୍ଦ ବିଶ୍ୱାଳଙ୍କ ଦେହାନ୍ତ ବିଷୟରେ ଜାଣି ମୁଁ ଦୁଃଖିତ। ରାଜ୍ୟର ପ୍ରଗତି ଏବଂ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ଉନ୍ନତି ଦିଗରେ ସେ କରିଯାଇଥିବା କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ପାଇଁ ସର୍ବଦା ସ୍ମରଣୀୟ ରହିବେ। ତାଙ୍କ ଅମର ଆତ୍ମାର ସଦଗତି କାମନା କରିବା ସହ ଶୋକସନ୍ତପ୍ତ ପରିବାରବର୍ଗଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ମୋର ସମବେଦନା ଜଣାଉଛି।

CM Patnaik said that Biswal’s contribution to the development of the marginalized sections and the overall development of the State shall be remembered.
The Chief Minister expressed his deep sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for the salvation of the noble soul.
CM also expressed his grief on the demise of former Deputy Minister (Home) and MLA from Angul, Debaraj Sahu, who passed away at the age of 95 on Friday.

Sahu was suffering from pneumonia for the last 15 days and was undergoing treatment at a private Hospital in Bhubaneswar.
Born on January 03, 1929, Sahu had embraced law as his profession and had joined Congress Party in 1957. He became a Member of PCC in 1958 and a Member of AICC from 1962 to 1969. However, he joined Utkal Congress in 1971.
Sahu was the MLA of Angul from 1971-1973. He served as Deputy Minister (Home) from 1971 to 1974 in the Cabinet of former Odisha Chief Minister Biswanath Das.
