Sambalpur, Feb 23: Miscreants have stolen ornaments worth Rs 12 lakh from a jewellery shop in Marwaripara area under the Town Police station in the city, Police said on Wednesday. Police said two people came to the jewellery shop on Tuesday. While one of them entered the jewellery shop on the pretext of buying gold chains, the other waited outside.
As soon as the person entered the jewellery shop, he asked the manager to show him some gold chains. He then tactfully took a box that contained gold chains from the shop and fled. The Inspector-in-charge of Town Police station, Prakash Karna said, the incident has been captured in the CCTV camera but the footage is not clear. He said the investigation is underway to ascertain the identity of the miscreants adding that the police would soon nab the criminals.
