Manjhi Compares Lalu With Lord Krishna
Patna, Feb 16: A day after RJD president Lalu Prasad was sent to jail after being convicted in fodder scam, Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) chief and former Bihar Chief Minister Jeetan Ram Manjhi on Wednesday compared him with Lord Krishna, saying he was also imprisoned. Manjhi told media persons here that it was strange that a veteran socialist leader like Lalu Prasad who had been inspiration for masses particular poor and deprived, was being sent to jail in one case after the other in fodder scam. Prasad was released on bail last year but sent to jail again in another case of fodder scam, he added.
” Lalu was sent to jail but even Lord Krishna was also imprisoned,” HAM president said adding that some leaders committed to cause of poor and deprived were sometimes deliberately implicated. In this case he would not like to make any comment as it was not proper to do so on judicial order, he added. The stand of Manjhi, president of HAM, a constituent of NDA, has raised many questions in political circle. Mukesh Sahni, president of VIP, another constituent of ruling NDA had also shown his overture towards Lalu, saying he was his ideal leader committed to cause of poor and deprived. Ruling NDA comprises JD(U), BJP, HAM and VIP. BJP has the highest strength of 74 MLAs followed by 43 ofJD(U) and 4 each of HAM and VIP. NDA has strength of 125 against 122 required to form the government in 243 member strength of Bihar assembly.
