New Delhi, Feb 11 (UNI) Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel rescued 14 people from a sinking boat in the sea near Mormugao Port Trust in Goa. CISF Quick Reaction Team (QRT) unit noticed that a boat carrying some persons became out of control due to sudden non-functioning of engine and was about to capsize in the sea outside the lighthouse area where the water was very deep, said a Senior official of CISF. The QRT patrolling team reached the location and found that fourteen persons were there in the boat.
The team informed the matter to the shift in-charge and the Coast Guard Officials. Subsequently, officers and other CISF personnel immediately started a rescue operation. The boat was stabilized through ropes and the petrol was made available with the help of life-buoy, after which the engine of the boat started and the lives of all the persons were saved.
