Veteran BJP Leader Janga Reddy Passes Away
Hyderabad, Feb 5: Veteran BJP leader and former MP Chandupatla Janga Reddy passed away due to illness here on Saturday. He was 86 and is survived by his wife, a son and two daughters. Reddy is one of the two BJP MPs to get elected to 8th Lok Sabha in 1984 after defeating former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao from Hanamkonda Lok Sabha Constituency. Another MP is A K Patel, representing Mehsana in Gujarat.
The Veteran BJP leader, who had worked as a teacher in Parkala Village, located in the Warangal district under united Andhra Pradesh for 10 years, retired in 1967. His political career started as a Jana Sangh member from his native place Parkala and he was elected to Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1967 before becoming a Janata Party member from Shyampet.
Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has mourned the death of senior political leader and former MP, C.Janga Reddy. He conveyed his condolences to members of the bereaved family. Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar and other state leaders have expressed their grief over Janga Reddy’s demise. His mortal remains was kept in the Party Office at Nampally to enable the people to pay their last respects. U
