Ganjam: Youth Succumbs Following Self Immolation In Front Of Police Station

Ganjam: In a shocking incident, a youth has succumbed to burn injuries after self-immolation in front of Golanthara Police Station in Ganjam district. The deceased identified as Kalia Samantara of Randha village.

According to reports, he had visited Golanthara police station last night to lodge a complaint. After Kalia stepped out of the police station, he set himself on fire by pouring kerosene on his body.

The cops who were present at the police station rescued Kalia and rushed him to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Berhampur. By the time the cops managed to douse the flames, he had sustained around 70 percent burn injuries, added reports.

Later, he was shifted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar as his condition deteriorated. However, he took his last breath while undergoing treatment.

It is to be noted that Berhampur SP Pinak Mishra has assured that a probe will be conducted to ascertain the actual reason behind his extreme step.
