Meghalaya Governor Tested Positive For COVID-19
Shillong, Jan 21: Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday, a health official said on Friday.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma wasn’t able to attend the 50th Statehood function at Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex as he was indisposed he addressed the gathering virtually.
“I would like to apologise that I could not present there physically because, I started developing cold symptom until my test result is out I felt appropriate not to be part of a large gathering in the interest of the state,” Sangma said in his virtual address.
Meanwhile, health officials said that Governor Malik is under home isolation and his health condition is “stable”.
“He (Malik) is being monitored round the clock by doctors,” the official told UNI. Governor Malik had recently received his booster dose at a vaccination camp organised at the Raj Bhawan.
The Governor had requested citizens who has not yet got vaccinated to get the doses immediately.
