Shocking Burglary at IPS Officer’s House in Lucknow, Cash, Silverware, and Bathroom Fittings Stolen

 

Lucknow, Sept 26 : In a startling incident, burglars targeted the residence of a senior IPS officer in one of Lucknow’s posh localities, creating panic across the neighborhood. The officer, Yamuna Prasad, is currently posted as a DCP in Noida and lives there with his family. The burglary took place at his house located in Vikas Nagar, Lucknow, where he no longer resides full-time.

On the evening of September 22, unknown miscreants broke into the house by cutting through the rear window grille. The property was being looked after by a relative, Asit Siddharth. It was he who discovered the burglary when he opened the house the following day, on September 23.

Upon inspection, it was found that the burglars had looted approximately ₹50,000 in cash along with various valuable items. Among the stolen goods were 10 silver coins, 2 silver glasses, 2 silver bowls, 3 wristwatches, 2 wall clocks, and around 20 bathroom taps. Several gift items and other valuables were also reported missing. The burglars had ransacked the rooms and broken into the cupboards, indicating that the theft was carried out meticulously and without haste.

The fact that even bathroom fittings were stolen has highlighted the audacity of the criminals. The police arrived at the scene shortly after the crime was reported and have begun a thorough investigation. An FIR has been registered, and the authorities are working to identify the culprits.

This incident has not only shocked the local residents but has also raised serious concerns about the security of even high-ranking officials’ homes in urban areas.
