Jharsuguda , Sept 23 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Odisha on the 27th of this month, where he will address a massive public gathering at Amilipalli in Jharsuguda district. Following the confirmation of his visit, the district administration has swung into action, conducting a series of high-level meetings to finalize the event blueprint. Key areas of focus include crowd management, security protocols, parking zones, and overall logistical arrangements.
Senior officials including Northern Revenue Commissioner Sachin Ramachandra Yadav, IG of Northern Range Himanshu Lal, Jharsuguda District Collector Kunal Motiram Chhabwan, and SP G.R. Raghavendra have already visited the proposed venue for an on-ground inspection. A marathon coordination meeting was held at the Collector’s office to streamline the planning process. Although no formal itinerary has been released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), all officials have been instructed to stay on high alert and be prepared for any last-minute updates.
In a move to ensure seamless execution, the District Collector has issued orders cancelling all leaves of district-level officers until the 27th. Officers are barred from leaving their headquarters without prior permission. With an estimated one lakh attendees expected at the rally, detailed discussions are underway to coordinate participation from various districts and to deploy adequate security from Jharsuguda airport to the event venue.
Several line departments, including Public Works and the PHD, have been assigned specific duties. Tent erection and other venue preparations are already underway. Initially, PM Modi was slated to visit Berhampur on the same date, and Odisha DGP Yogesh Bahadur Khurania had even visited the town on September 20 for an advance review. However, the Berhampur visit was later cancelled due to unavoidable reasons.
Following this development, speculation about a change in venue was confirmed with the final selection of Amilipalli, Jharsuguda for the Prime Minister’s public meeting. The shift in location has redirected administrative and security focus from Berhampur to Jharsuguda, ensuring that all arrangements are in place for the high-profile visit.
