Ravichandran Ashwin Reaches Home: The third Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 between India and Australia played at the Gabba Stadium in Brisbane ended in a draw due to rain. At one time in this match, the hold of the host Australian team looked very strong but rain spoiled most of the match and they had to be satisfied with a draw. Just after the end of this match, Team India’s legendary off-spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin surprised everyone by announcing his retirement from international cricket with immediate effect. Ashwin got a chance to play in the Perth Test match on this tour, after which Ravindra Jadeja was included in the playing 11 in his place in the Gabba Test match. Now, just a day after his retirement, Ashwin has returned to the country, in which he has directly reached his home in Chennai.

Ashwin got a warm welcome from the airport to his home.

As soon as Ravichandran Ashwin came out of Chennai Airport on the morning of 19th December, there was already a crowd of media and fans there, apart from this, Ashwin’s family had also come to receive him. During this, Ashwin refused to take his photo. On reaching home, he was welcomed in a traditional manner in which Ashwin was garlanded and during this time many other people were also present. Ashwin thanked everyone and went straight inside his house. If we talk about Ashwin’s Test career, he took 537 wickets in his name while playing in 116 matches. Apart from this, he also has 6 century innings in his name.

I still have some cricket left in me

After the end of the Gabba Test match, when Ashwin told everyone about his retirement, he also made it clear that there is still cricket left in him, but he will now be seen playing at club and domestic level. I have collected a lot of memories during my international cricket journey, in which these memories of all the fellow players including Rohit and Kohli are going to stay with me forever. Apart from Test, Ashwin has also been a part of Team India in ODI and T20 formats for a long time, in which in 2011, when the Indian team won the ODI World Cup under the captaincy of Dhoni, Ashwin was also a part of the team at that time.
