Kandhamal: Investigation report of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati murder case to be made public. The state government will take a decision on this. The Chief Minister has discussed this. Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan said that a decision will be taken soon about what the government will do in the coming days.

Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan further said, “What we have said in the past days, now will be discussed soon and a decision will be taken regarding the commission report and other aspects.” A case is going on in the High Court for the CBI investigation of Swami Laxmananand’s murder case. On March 5, 2024, the previous BJD government argued in a statement that a CBI investigation is being demanded after 15 years of the incident.

On August 23, 2008, Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati and his 4 other followers were brutally killed by miscreants in, Jaleshpatta kanyashram of Tumudibandh block of Kandhamal district.

Meanwhile, many years have passed since that incident. Every year on behalf of the World Hindu Parishad, in the tribute meeting of Swamiji, the people of the council demand to arrest the real murderer of Swamiji and to make public the commission investigation report.
