Huge Amount: DRI And Air Customs Sleuths Seize Gold Worth Rs 72 Lakh At Kannur Int’l Airport, One Held
Kannur, Dec 23 : In a joint operation, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and Air Customs officials on Thursday seized 1,496 grams of gold valued around Rs 72 lakh from a passenger, who arrived at the Kannur International Airport from Sharjah in an Indigo flight.
Customs officials detained Mubasheer of Muthiyanga near Thalassery in this district in this connection.
The seized gold in compound form was kept in his shoes, and further investigation is underway, Customs Superintendent K Sukumaran said.
On Wednesday too, Air Customs officials had seized 611 grams of gold valued around Rs 30 lakh from a passenger, who arrived from Sharjah.
