Keonjhar: A bus carrying over 60 high school students from the Soro area of Balaswar district collided with a truck near Balukuma on National Highway No. 20 in Odisha’s Keonjhar district early Thursday morning. The accident left twenty-two people injured, with two individuals in critical condition.
The ill-fated bus, en route to Keonjhar, met with the tragic accident, causing significant harm to the passengers on board. The collision, described as severe by eyewitnesses, resulted in the front portion of the bus being completely mangled.
Local residents rushed to the scene to rescue the victims, displaying acts of heroism as they pulled the injured from the wreckage. The injured were promptly transported to the Anandpur Community Health Centre for medical attention. Among the injured, two individuals were reported to be in critical condition, receiving urgent medical care to address their severe injuries.
Upon receiving information about the accident, Balukuma police swiftly reached the scene and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
