Bhubaneswar: On Monday, a college student died after the scooter she was riding was struck by a bus in Dhenkanal district.
The victim, Ipsita Barala, was the daughter of Prabhakar Barala of Belpada village and a first-year student at Satyam Sivam Sundaram Mahavidyalaya in Gaudakateni.
She was on her way to college with a cousin when a dog crossed in front of the scooter, causing it to lose balance and be hit by the bus.
Ipsita was killed instantly in the collision. Locals blocked the National Highway following the accident.
