Guwahati: East Zone Inter University Women Badminton Championship with teams from 35 different universities across East Zone kicked off on December 17 at the sports complex of The Assam Royal Global University in Guwahati.
The three-day event will conclude on December 19.
The officials of Assam Badminton Association have been roped in as chief referee, deputy referee, match controller and technical expert. While addressing the players during the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Guest of the function, Assam Special Director General of Police (Law & Order) G P Singh told the players, “When you leave Assam, leave as the ambassadors of Assam and the Northeast.”
Vice-Chancellor of Royal Global University Prof. (Dr.) S P Singh said, “Holistic education cannot be completed without sports.” Along with players and members from different universities, the inauguration function was attended by Assam Special Director General of Police (Law & Order) G P Singh, Chancellor of Royal Global University (RGU) Dr. A K Pansari, Joint Commissioner of Guwahati Police ParthaSarathi Mahanta, Vice Chancellor of Royal Global University Prof. (Dr.) SP Singh, Executive Vice President of RGU Ankur Pansari and others.
