Imphal, Dec 18 : Manipur government has decided to extend ban on mobile internet services in some areas of the state till January 2 next year.
Home Commissioner T Ranjit said in an order on Monday that on December 3 last, mobile internet was lifted in most parts of the state except some areas.
The ban will be effective in stretch of 2 Km radius along adjoining areas between districts of – Chandel and Kakching, Churachandpur and Bishnupur, Churachandpur and Kakching, Kangpokpi and Imphal West, Kangpokpi and Imphal East, Kangpokpi and Thoubal, Tengnoupal and Kakching .
The ban will be effective till 7:45 PM of January 2, 2024 under Rule 2 of Temporary Suspension of Telecom Services (Public Emergency or Public Safety) Rules, 2017 it was added.

Further, all internet users were requested to refrain from activities which may cause situations which will warrant for suspension of internet services in future.
