Patna, Dec 15 : An undertrial prisoner, Abhishek alias Chhote Sarkar, was shot dead by assailants in Danapur civil premises here on Friday.
Police said that Abhishek, a resident of Sikanderpur, was being taken from lockup to produce him before the trial court when two assailants opened fire on him. Abhishek was taken to the hospital, where he was declared dead, police added.
“Two persons have been arrested in this connection,” the police said, adding that they were being interrogated to ascertain the motive behind the killing. An FIR in this connection had been registered at the concerned police station, the police further added.
” Abhishek was lodged in Beur jail in connection with the murder case,” police stated. Raids were being carried out to nab associates of the arrested accused, police informed.
