Bengaluru: The mortal remains of Lance Naik Sai Teja, who lost his life in Coonoor helicopter crash along with Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and others, will arrive at Yelahanka Airforce station here on Saturday.
Yesterday, his mortal remains were in New Delhi for ceremonial tribute. After reaching Yelahanka Air Force station, Teja’s mortal remains will then be shifted to Airforce Command Hospital and it will be taken to Chittoor tomorrow morning, said the Defence PRO to UNI.
Teja was Personal Security Officer (PSO) to General Rawat. He was born at Kantevaripalli village in Chittoor and had joined the Indian Army in 2013 in the Bengaluru Regiment.
His funeral will be performed at his village as per the Hindu customs, Teja’s family members said.
He was married to Shyamala of Siddhareddypally village in 2015. His younger brother B Mahesh Babu is also a soldier posted in Sikkim at present. Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan condoled for the departed valiant Teja and said it was a great loss for his family.
