BREAKING: Presidential Election Results 2022: Murmu Way Ahead Of Sinha In First Round

New Delhi, July 21: India on Thursday will know who will succeed incumbent President Ram Nath Kovind to become the country’s 15th President, as first round counting of votes for the presidential election shows a huge victory trend for Draupadi Murmu against Opposition’s Yashwant Sinha.

Ruling NDA’s Draupadi Murmu and Opposition’s Yashwant Sinha are pitted against each other in the contest, with votes clearly stacked in favour of Murmu.

A total of 15 votes were invalid says PC Mody, Secretary General, Rajya Sabha. 540 votes worth 3,78,000 were secured by Draupadi Murmu as against Yashwant Sinha who secured 208 votes with a value of 1,45,600.

National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) Draupadi Murmu and Opposition’s Yashwant Sinha are in the fray to become the country’s 15th president. If elected, Draupadi Murmu will be the first tribal woman to occupy the top constitutional post in the country. President Kovind’s tenure is ending on July 24 and the new President will take oath on July 25.
