Agartala, Aug 1 : A POCSO court in West Tripura has convicted a middle aged person identified as Amar Nama for raping her stepdaughter and awarded him 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a slapping fine of Rs 30,000, police said on Tuesday.
The police said he had been found guilty under sections 376(2) and 376(AB) of the Indian Penal Code and section 6 of the POCSO Act.
According to special public prosecutor Pradip Sutradhar, the minor was fallen victim of sexual harassment by her stepfather in July last year in the absence of her mother in the house.
