Rourkela: Two persons from Odisha’s Sundergarh district were arrested by Narcotic Contol Bureau (NCB) on Tuesday in connection with the Mumbai Rave party, father of one of the Odia accused has broken silence over the matter.
“Only 2.4gm ganja seized from my son’s possession as he had kept ganja filled cigarette for his own use, not to sell it. The way it’s being projected, my son hasn’t done anything of that sort, ” father of arrested Manish Rajgaria from Rourkela said. He also added that 37 from Rourkela were on the cruise.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested four more persons including another Odia associated with the case on Tuesday evening.
The duo has been identified as Manish Rajgaria (30) and Avin Sahoo (30).
The NCB, which produced the foursome in the special NDPS court today, said that 2.4 gram of ganja had been seized from Manish while Avin has confessed to have consumed ganja twice on board the cruise liner during the rave party. Both were intercepted after the ship was docked at the Mumbai port for the second time on Monday.
As per the NCB, both Avin and Manish had joined the party as guests. Following their arrest, the NCB allowed both of them to speak to their families and avail legal aid.
It is pertinent to mention that the action came after the NCB’s swoop on Saturday evening aboard the Cordelia Cruises deluxe ship as it was preparing for a scheduled Mumbai-Goa voyage.
