Jharsuguda residents excited about PM’s visit; Odisha in focus

 

Bhubaneswar, Sept 26 : As the Prime Minister is going to visit Jharsuguda tomorrow and give a big gift of development, there is great excitement among the people of Jharsuguda. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reviewed the state of Jharsuguda after the Prime Minister’s visit. It is hoped that this initiative of the double engine government will bring a double dose of development to the state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will gift the people of the state with railway projects worth more than ₹1,700 crore. This is a historic step towards strengthening the railway infrastructure and increasing connectivity in Odisha.

On this occasion, the foundation stone for a railway flyover between Sambalpur city and Sarla, which is worth Rs 273 crore, will be laid. This flyover will remove the long-standing bottleneck at Sarla station and ensure smooth and uninterrupted rail traffic in the transport of coal, minerals and industrial goods.

The Koraput-Baiguda railway line will be doubled (34 km) at a cost of Rs 481 crore. This will strengthen the transportation of minerals and agricultural products and give a new impetus to industrial development in the Koraput region. Along with this, the doubling of the Manabar-Koraput-Gorapur railway line (82 km), which has been built at a cost of Rs. 955 crore, will also be inaugurated.

This project will be of great benefit to Koraput district of Odisha and Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh and will facilitate fast transportation of iron ore from Bailadila mines.

Amrit Bharat Express to be launched between Berhampur and Surat (Udhana). It is reported that the Prime Minister will flag off this train. This train will directly connect Odisha with Gujarat.

It will benefit passengers from a total of 21 districts of 5 states including Ganjam, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Balangir, Nuapada in Odisha. This express will not only facilitate travel, but will also strengthen economic and cultural ties between East, Central and West India.

Collectively, these projects are expected to prove to be a game-changer in the development of Odisha’s railway infrastructure. This will reduce travel time, increase safety, and create industrial expansion and employment opportunities.

These initiatives by the Prime Minister reflect the unwavering commitment of the Government of India to ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, through which the dream of building a developed Odisha with a developed India is being realised.
