Nuapada, October 17: Political discussions and strategies are in full swing ahead of the Nuapada by-election. Three major parties have announced their candidates for this by-election. Jai Dholakia will contest from BJP, Ghaziram Majhi from Congress and Snehangini Chhuria from BJD.
The Nuapada by-election is going to be a major political event in the state. The trend of party switching has become a topic of discussion in this region. Especially, the fact that a large number of parties have left the BJD for the BJP has made this election even more exciting.
Yesterday, former BJD MP candidate from Kalahandi, Lambudhar Niyal, resigned from the BJD and joined the BJP. Along with him, 55 sarpanchs and committee members of Nuapada and Komna blocks also left the BJD and joined the BJP.
The party’s exit is a major political signal that the BJP is establishing a strong base in Nuapada. However, the BJD and the Congress are also busy strategizing.
