Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Unveils Mega Industrial Projects in Paradip

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation stone for one of the largest steel plants globally at Dhinkia in Paradip on Friday. The project, spearheaded by JSW Utkal Steel Limited, is set to be a colossal 13.2 MTPA integrated steel plant, representing a monumental investment of Rs 65,000 crore. This ambitious venture is poised to generate employment opportunities for approximately 30,000 youth, thereby significantly contributing to the state’s economic growth.

Additionally, the foundation stones were also laid for ReNew E-Fuels Private Ltd’s 1.20 MPTA green ammonia plant, with an investment of Rs 22,000 crore, and Silox India Private Limited’s state-of-the-art chemical plant, with an investment of Rs 500 crore. These ventures are expected to create about 5,000 job opportunities, further bolstering the employment landscape in the region.

Addressing the gathering at the foundation-laying ceremony, Chief Minister Patnaik reminisced about the visionary leadership of Biju Babu, particularly his instrumental role in establishing the Paradip Port in the early 1960s. He emphasized the transformative impact of this decision, which laid the foundation for Paradip’s evolution into a major investment destination in Eastern India.

Expressing his delight at the commencement of these mega projects, Chief Minister Patnaik underscored the significant capital investment they represent for Odisha, amounting to approximately Rs 90,000 crore. Moreover, he emphasized that these projects would create a staggering 35,000 job opportunities, further catalyzing the state’s development trajectory.

Acknowledging the pivotal role of industrialists in driving economic growth, Chief Minister Patnaik extended his gratitude to the Jindal Group for their steadfast partnership in Odisha’s journey to becoming a major industrial hub.

Highlighting the state’s commitment to development under the 5T initiative, Chief Minister Patnaik affirmed that Odisha is witnessing a new era across various sectors, including industry, infrastructure, education, and healthcare. He reiterated that the state’s progress is a collaborative effort, with the common people, farmers, women, and youth playing integral roles.

In recognition of the cooperative spirit of the people of Paradip and Jagatsinghpur districts, Chief Minister Patnaik assured that the benefits of industrialization would extend to all families in the region.

Elected representatives, including MLAs Raghunandan Das, Sambit Routray, Prashant Kumar Muduli, and MP Dr. Rajashri Mallik, lauded the transformative impact of these projects on the economic landscape of Jagatsinghpur district and extended their gratitude to Chief Minister Patnaik for his pivotal role in driving development initiatives.

In his address, JSW Chief Sajjan Jindal paid tribute to the visionary foresight of Biju Patnaik and commended Chief Minister Patnaik for his leadership in accelerating the state’s industrialization process. He reaffirmed JSW’s commitment to contributing to Odisha’s economic growth.

Chairman 5T and Nabin Odisha V, Kartik Pandian, and Principal Secretary Industries, Hemant Sharma, were also present at the event, underscoring the government’s concerted efforts towards the accelerated implementation of these iconic projects.
