Bhubaneswar: Arjun Munda, an undertrial prisoner facing murder charges, has reportedly escaped from a hospital in Odisha’s Sundargarh district, where he was receiving treatment following a minor operation.
Munda, who was charged with murder under Bhasma police limits in Sundargarh district, had been admitted to the Sundargarh District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) on Friday. He underwent a minor operation on the same day and was in the process of recovering. However, around 2 am on Monday, he managed to evade the police personnel assigned to guard him and fled from the prisoner ward of the hospital.
Following the escape, prison authorities have lodged a complaint with the Sundargarh Town Police station, prompting a search operation to locate and apprehend the escaped prisoner.
