Bhubaneswar: R&B (civil) retired chief engineer Taraprasad Mishra has been arrested. Vigilance has arrested him on the charge of evading assets.
His uncountable list of assets were came to light after a millionaire ex-officer of the state came under the vigilance scanner on Monday. Vigilance team raided 9 places in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Jharsuguda, including Taraprasad’s house, on the charge of evading assets.
During the inspection, the vigilance team seized one and a half kg of gold, 370 grams of diamond jewellery, expensive cars and fixed and immovable property worth crores of rupees from Taraprasad’s house. Places under investigation include his father’s house in Cuttack District Athagarh, a relative’s house in Tigiria, and another relative’s house in Plot No. 1191, Nilakanthanagar, Nayapali.
12 DSPs, 12 inspectors, 16 ASIs and other personnel of vigilance were engaged in the investigation under the search warrant of the special vigilance judge of Bhubaneswar.
