Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a significant visit to Chandikhol in Odisha’s Jajpur district today, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of projects totaling more than Rs 1,10,600 crore across various sectors including oil & gas, railways, road, and atomic energy.
Accompanied by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and senior BJP leaders, including Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Ashwini Vaishnav, the Prime Minister’s itinerary includes addressing a public meeting at Benapur in Jajpur district. A temporary helipad has been erected at Benapur for his arrival.
Scheduled to arrive in Bhubaneswar at approximately 3:30 pm, Prime Minister Modi will then proceed to Chandikhol via an IAF helicopter. Inspector General of Police, Central Range, Ashish Singh, confirmed the deployment of over 3000 police personnel in Bhubaneswar and Chandikhol to ensure the Prime Minister’s security, with various security measures and personnel assigned to different duties.
In Bhubaneswar, although the Prime Minister does not have any official engagements, a special route will be set up by the police leading to Raj Bhawan. A contingency plan will be implemented for the carcade, with six Additional DCPs, 10 ACPs, 19 Inspectors, 69 other officers, and 15 platoons of police force deployed for the visit.
The highlight of the Prime Minister’s visit will be the inauguration of several key projects in Chandikhol, including IOCL’s mono ethylene glycol project in Paradip refinery, a 0.6 MMTPA LPG import facility at Paradip, five MLD capacity seawater desalination plants at Odisha Sands Complex of IREL(I) Ltd, a CONCOR container depot in Kalinga Nagar, a new train service between Puri and Anand Vihar (New Delhi) via Kendujhargarh station, and the commencement of the first passenger train service on the Haridaspur – Paradip rail route.
