Odisha’s SLSWCA Approves 27 Industrial Projects Worth Rs 6,134.52 Crore, Boosting Economic Growth and Employment

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) made a significant stride in advancing the state’s industrial landscape by approving 27 industrial projects worth Rs 6,134.52 crore. The approval came during a meeting presided over by Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena, highlighting the government’s commitment to fostering economic growth and generating employment opportunities.

These approved projects span across 10 districts of Odisha and are poised to create job opportunities for approximately 42,275 individuals, significantly contributing to the state’s employment sector.

Covering a diverse range of industrial sectors, the approved projects include downstream aluminium, infrastructure, food processing, renewable energy, plastic, apparel and textile, ferro alloys, and information technology.

One of the notable projects approved is the proposal by Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Ltd to establish a hydro power project with a capacity of 63 MW, entailing an investment of Rs 787.48 crore in Baliguda, Kandhamal district.

Premium Transmission Venture has earmarked an investment of Rs 555 crore for setting up a plant dedicated to the production of industrial transmission and renewable energy equipment in Khurda district.

Texmaco Rail and Engineering are set to invest Rs 438.92 crore in establishing a manufacturing unit for train bogies and couplers in Paradip, further bolstering the state’s infrastructure and transportation sector.

SMEL Steel Structural Pvt Ltd has proposed a significant investment of Rs 893 crore for setting up an aluminium coil, flat rolled, and battery foil unit in Rengali, Sambalpur, contributing to the growth of the metallurgical industry in the region.

Magpet Polymer’s plan to invest Rs 175 crore in establishing a unit for manufacturing various plastic products in Khurda underscores the state’s focus on promoting the plastic industry and enhancing its value chain.

In another development, ITC Ltd is set to embark on the construction of a 5-star Welcome Hotel in Sipasarubali, Puri, with an investment of Rs 148.39 crore, enhancing the state’s hospitality sector and catering to the growing tourism demand.

The approval of these projects reflects Odisha’s conducive business environment, proactive governance, and commitment to attracting investments across diverse sectors. It sets the stage for robust industrial growth, job creation, and economic prosperity, further solidifying Odisha’s position as a favored destination for industrial development in India.
