Odisha Vigilance Red Handed Caught Food Safety Officer While Taking Bribe

Kendrapara: Bibhash Mazumdar, food safety officer of Kendrapara, has been caught red-handed by the vigilance. Vigilance caught food safety officer while taking bribe for issuing license. Vigilance seized 5000 rupees as bribe from him.

Food Safety officer Bibhash was harassing a man named Sanjay Pradhan to get license. He did not have his license. Sanjay kept running to the license office again and again top get his work done. But the Food Safety Officer asked for a hefty sum of money to get the licence. Sanjay first gave 40 thousand rupees to the food safety officer. Another 5 thousand rupees were left. Bibhash asked to take the remaining money today.

Sanjay had already informed the vigilance about the incident. The food safety officer, who was already caught, sat on him when he was taking a bribe at the three-faced intersection of the National Highway. The food safety officer was interrogated by vigilance and seized bribe money from him. In addition, food safety officer’s rented house and his paternal house are being raided.
