Odisha Government Appoints Rajesh Pravakar Patil as New Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has announced the appointment of Rajesh Pravakar Patil as the new Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), replacing incumbent Commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange. The decision was made official through a circular issued by the General Administration Department on Saturday.
Rajesh Pravakar Patil, a 2005 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, will assume the role of Commissioner of BMC. The circular also grants him additional responsibilities, allowing him to retain his position as Commissioner cum Secretary to Government in the Co-operation Department and as Special Secretary in the Housing & Urban Development Department, both based in Bhubaneswar.
The appointment of Rajesh Pravakar Patil comes amidst his current role as Commissioner-cum-Secretary at the Co-operation Department, where he has been serving diligently. Additionally, he holds the additional charge of Special Secretary at the Housing & Urban Development Department, showcasing his extensive experience and expertise in urban governance.
Meanwhile, Vijay Amruta Kulange, a 2013 batch IAS Officer who previously held the position of BMC Commissioner, is currently on a one-month leave. It is expected that he will be reassigned to a new post upon his return from leave.
