Koraput: Strict action by the Koraput police officer towards the people of their department. The SP ordered the suspension of 11 policemen. The employee was accused of following the marijuana mafia and dealing with them.
Among the suspended police personnel are 3 SI, 2 APF and 2 constables. In addition, 2 home guards have been suspended from work and an investigation has been ordered against 2 SIs who are undergoing training. This has been informed by Koraput headquarters.
According to information, last Monday night Machhakund and Lamtaput police were jointly patrolling the border. Meanwhile, a cannabis truck from Andhra Pradesh was crossing the Odisha border and was going to other states. Machhakund and Lamtaput police stopped the gang and detained the marijuana (ganja) mafia. Later, they made a deal with the police.
There are reports that the mafia has made a deal of Rs 10 lakh with the police to leave the lane. As per the deal they paid 5 lakh rupees to the police, but the remaining money was not paid. Later, when the police did not leave them with the half of the money, smugglers left their belongings at the spot and left.
