OMCs conduct regular inspections, taking stock of fuel quality and measurements every three months. Any irregularities detected prompt further action, with oil samples sent to laboratories for examination. Surprise inspections by multidisciplinary teams are conducted, and monthly collections of oil samples are analyzed at mobile laboratories operated by OMCs.

Moreover, oil marketing company officials investigate complaints of adulteration brought to their attention, indicating a proactive approach in addressing consumer grievances and maintaining integrity within the fuel industry.

The Minister’s disclosure sheds light on the proactive measures implemented to safeguard consumer interests and maintain the integrity of fuel distribution networks in Odisha. As efforts to combat cheating and adulteration continue, such transparency and accountability initiatives play a crucial role in upholding consumer trust and ensuring fair practices within the fuel sector.
