Bhubaneswar: Four Maoist cadres were killed in an encounter with security forces in the forest area near Dhami village under Gagangaloor police limits in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. The incident, which took place on Tuesday morning, highlights the ongoing efforts of security forces to combat insurgency in the region.
According to reports, the security forces, comprising personnel from the DYRG, SIRPF, COBRA, Bastar Fighters, and Bastar Battalion, launched a search operation in the forests of Gangaloor. The exchange of fire resulted in the deaths of four outlawed members of the CPI(Maoist) group. The security forces, however, managed to seize several sophisticated weapons from the encounter site, including AK-47 rifles, light machine guns (LMGs), automatic guns, and Maoist propaganda material.
