DIG Rajesh Pandit suspended for grave misconduct

Bhubaneswar : On Tuesday 2007-batch IPS officer or State Fire and Home Guard DIG Rajesh Pandit is now suspended for grave misconduct. Rajesh’s suspension has been issued by the home department. The decision was taken on allegations of violation of the Indian Police Service Act. He has been suspended for allegedly abusing a woman inspector in the Capital police station area. The government has ordered immediate implementation of the suspended order. Not only this, there is an order that Rajesh cannot leave the headquarters without permission.

According to a Home department notification, the suspension followed a confidential report submitted against Pandit by DGP, Odisha. “The IPS officer has been placed under suspension with immediate effect since disciplinary proceedings are being contemplated against him on the grounds of grave misconduct as a Member of the Indian Police Service.” It should be noted that on the last 27th, DIG Rajesh abused a woman inspector in her house in the Capital police station area. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi took it very seriously. He returned to Bhubaneswar yesterday evening after completing a 4-day visit to Delhi after attending the Niti Aayog meeting and took immediate action after learning about the incident.
