BJD MP Mamata Mohanta Resigns From Her Post And From Party

New Delhi:  BJD MP Mamata Mohanta has resigns from her post. She was a member of the upper house Rajya Sabha. Mamata sent her resignation letter to Rajya Sabha Speaker Jagdeep Dhankhar. Dhankhar accepted her resignation and announced it in the upper house. She has also resigned from Biju Janata Dal as well. In her social media account X she confirmed it by sharing the letter that she has resigned. Mamata wrote, “I have resigned from the post of Rajya Sabha member today. I also sent the resignation letter to BJD supremo Shri Naveen Patnaik. He chose me as a member of the District Council and a member of the Rajya Sabha and gave me the opportunity to serve my district mayor and the state.”

Added to that she also wrote, “The party does not feel the need for my services. Since I am a leader of the people and their service is my main duty, I did not feel the need to be in the party. That’s why I resigned from the primary membership of Biju Janata Dal and the post of Rajya Sabha member.”

The reason behind her resignation she stated on her social media platform that BJD feels that Mamata is now not eligible to serve the people as a worker of the party. But the important thing is she is popular as a social worker in her native place and more popular as a kudumi leader.

She was elected to Rajya Sabha on 3rd April 2020. Mamata is belongs to the Kudumi tribe of Mayurbhanj District. Now with her resignation the total MP numbers of BJD has decreased to 8. Being a leader from a popular tribe of Odisha she served people as her own. With this unexpected scenario of politics what will be the next is all waiting for.
