Actor Govinda joins CM Shinde’s Shiv Sena

Feature: Bollywood actor Govinda has made a significant comeback, this time in the political arena. Joining the ruling Shiv Sena party, Govinda was welcomed into the fold by Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde in Mumbai.

Govinda, who had earlier won elections on a Congress ticket from the Virar constituency, made headlines in 2004 when he defeated BJP stalwart Ram Naik. Now, after a 14-year hiatus from politics, the ‘Raja Babu’ actor is back with a new political affiliation.

Speaking about his return, Govinda expressed his gratitude, stating, ‘I am back after a 14-year-long exile.’ He also highlighted his intention to focus on the art and culture field if given the opportunity.

Applauding the progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Govinda praised the development in Maharashtra under CM Eknath Shinde, emphasizing the importance of beautification and the growth of art and culture in the state.

Welcoming Govinda into the Shiv Sena, Rajya Sabha MP Milind Deora praised the actor’s character and expressed confidence in his ability to represent the creative industry and Mumbai’s cultural capital.

Govinda’s political move comes with a personal connection, as his parents had a good relationship with Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray. This development marks a significant turn in Govinda’s career and could potentially reshape the political landscape in Maharashtra.
