Lord Jagannath Showring His Blessing With ‘Rajarajeswar Besa’ On Kartik Purnima
Puri: The Jagannath devotees witness the ‘Rajarajeswar besa’ or the ‘Suna besa’ of the Trinity deities on the occasion of Kartik Purnima today. The Jagannath temple at Puri is crowded with a huge number of people. The Jagannath temple premises echoes with ‘Hari bol’, ululations along with Sankirtan processions as the devotees sing in unison.
For a disciplined and systematic darshan, the Shree Jagannath temple administration (SJTA) has made disciplinary arrangements.
Thirty six platoons of Police have been deployed at places to maintain the law and order situation and to control the traffic. Barricades from Market squares have been set up to the Singhadwara through which the devotees are allowed entry. They will exit the temple post-darshan through other doors.
According to traditions, Lord Jagannath is adorned the ‘Suna besa’ (gold ornament) five times in a year. The ‘Suna besa’ on the occasion of Kartik Purnima is referred as the ‘Rajarajeswar besa’.
