The ‘Gajabhoga’ And ‘Tarana’ Rituals Is To Be Performed To Baba Dhabaleswar
Athagarh: Bada Osa, another big festival of the month of Mahakartik is being celebrated in Baba Dhabaleswar Peeth in Athagarh of Cuttack. Baba Dhabaleswar is adorn the ‘Bada Singhar besa’ for the devotees today.
The ‘Gajabhoga’ and ‘Tarana’ will be offered to Baba Dhabaleswar for the ‘Trayadashi’ followed by ‘Chaturdashi’. The temple rituals begun today as early as 3:00am after bathing the Lord with 108 earthen pots of fragrance water. Thereafter, special oil called ‘mailam’ was applied to the Lord followed by Mangal Arati. After the completion of the rituals, the doors were opened for the devotee’s darshan and then offerings of Baba Dhabaleswar ‘Gajabhoga’ and ‘Tarana’ was distributed among them.
For the ‘Trayadashi’ followed by ‘Chaturdashi’, ‘Gajabhoga’ and ‘Tarana’ will be offered to Baba Dhabaleswar. The devotees who have observed fast for the ‘Bada Osa’ will break their fast with ‘Gajabhoga ‘and ‘Tarana’ Prasad.
It is said that after being cursed by Brahma, Devraj Indra came to Dhabeleswar shrine and got rid of the curse.
For the disciplined darshan, arrangements have been done by the temple administration.
