Jagatsinghpur: A woman named Mania Biswal was allegedly hacked to death at Ogarpur village under Balikuda block in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district late on Monday. The assailants reportedly attacked Mania, resulting in her immediate demise. Additionally, her son, Rakesh, and daughter-in-law, Subhadra, sustained critical injuries during the assault and were swiftly taken to Baliguda Community Health Centre. Due to the severity of their injuries, they were later transferred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for further treatment.
Sources familiar with the situation revealed that Rakesh and Subhadra had recently entered into marriage against the wishes of Mania’s family. It is speculated that this decision may have triggered animosity within the family, potentially leading to the violent attack on Mania and her family members.
