Bhubaneswar: A tragic incident unfolded near Dakhinabheda village in Kendrapara district, where a man went missing after being dragged into the Hansua River by a crocodile in front of his wife. The victim, identified as Nimai Mallick, was accompanying his wife to water their farmland using an irrigation system when the horrifying encounter occurred on Friday.
According to reports, Nimai and his wife were engaged in agricultural activities near the riverbank when the crocodile suddenly emerged and dragged him into the water. Despite the frantic efforts of his wife to rescue him, she was unable to free Nimai from the clutches of the reptile.
Upon realizing the severity of the situation, the distraught wife immediately sought help from nearby villagers and family members. Together, they launched a desperate search to locate Nimai, but their efforts proved futile as the crocodile had already submerged him in the river.
