Two killed as truck catches fire after accident in Jajpur

In a tragic road accident, a driver of the trailer was charred to death after the trailer rammed into the rear of a stationary truck on the National Highway No. 16 near Balukhai in Odisha’s Jajpur district. The blaze has been brought under control by the fire service personnel.

The identities of the deceased are yet to be known.

According to reports, the trolley hit another stationary truck after the driver lost control over the wheels this morning.  As a result, the front cabin of the trailer caught fire and the driver was severely burnt. He succumbed to his burn injuries on the spot. Fire tenders had to be called from the surrounding areas to douse the fire.

While the driver of the long truck was burnt alive at the spot, the driver of the parked truck was grievously injured in the accident and succumbed to the injuries.

On being informed, Fire Services from Chandikhol rushed to the spot and doused the blaze. A team from Dharmchaya reached the accident spot and launched an investigation into the incident.
