Daringbadi: In Mardipanka village under Daringbadi police limits in Odisha’s Kandhamal district on Sunday night as an elderly man lost his life following a heated argument. The victim, identified as Netra Manjhi (63), reportedly succumbed to injuries inflicted during the altercation, allegedly at the hands of his wife, Subhanti Manjhi (60).
Sources reveal that Netra and his wife, who were living alone, engaged in a verbal dispute over an undisclosed issue on Sunday night. The disagreement escalated rapidly, with Subhanti allegedly resorting to physical violence against her husband. Witnesses claim that the altercation turned violent as Subhanti continued to assault Netra until he collapsed to the ground, resulting in his demise.
Upon receiving information about the incident, authorities from the Daringbari police station, led by Officer Anand Chandra Paz, promptly responded and arrived at the scene.
