Koraput: A devastating accident occurred near Mantri Amba Ghati under Baipariguda police limits in Koraput district on Tuesday, involving a school bus carrying 23 teachers and other employees. The accident claimed the life of the school principal’s wife, Nilima Panda, on the spot, while eight others sustained injuries.
The school bus, en route to pay tribute to a deceased peon of Immanuel School, was tragically involved in the accident, which occurred due to reported failure of brakes.
According to sources familiar with the incident, the accident unfolded as the group of teachers and employees embarked on their journey to honor the memory of the deceased school staff member. It was during this somber trip that the unforeseen tragedy struck, resulting in the loss of Nilima Panda’s life and leaving eight others injured.
The injured individuals were swiftly taken to Baipariguda Community Health Centre for immediate medical attention, where they are currently undergoing treatment for their injuries.
