Odisha Witnesses Significant Rise in Nighttime Temperatures Amidst Dense Fog
Bhubaneswar: Odisha experienced significant shifts in weather patterns over the last 24 hours, with nighttime temperatures seeing a notable increase and dense fog disrupting normal life, as reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday.
Koraput emerged as the coldest place in the state, recording a temperature of 6.5°C, while Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Phulbani experienced minimum temperatures of 10°C. Other areas, such as G Udayagiri (7.5°C), Semiliguda (8.5°C), and Daringbadi (8.0°C), reported nighttime temperatures around or below 10°C. Several parts of Odisha recorded minimum temperatures below 15°C.
Urban centers, including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, witnessed milder temperatures at 16°C and 15.5°C, respectively, compared to some other regions in the state.
Moderate to dense fog blanketed many parts of Odisha during the early hours of Monday, causing disruptions to normal life. The reduced visibility prompted caution on the roads for commuters and residents.
The IMD forecasts a gradual increase in nighttime temperatures in the coming days, although the winter chill is expected to persist. This suggests that while some relief from the cold may be anticipated, residents should prepare for continued cooler weather conditions.
As Odisha navigates through these fluctuations in nighttime temperatures and copes with the challenges posed by dense fog, residents are advised to stay updated on weather forecasts. The dynamic nature of the climate serves as a reminder of the variability in atmospheric conditions, with both chilly temperatures and foggy scenarios expected to play a role in the region’s weather landscape in the days ahead.
