Protests against Sachin Tendulkar for promoting online gaming

Mumbai, Aug 31 : A noisy protest was held on Thursday outside the residence of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar for endorsing online gaming in an advertisement. Activists of Mabrashtra’s ruling coalition ally Prahar Janshakti Party (PJP), led by Omprakash Babarao alias Bachhu Kadu, shouted slogans against the master blaster and called upon him to stop promoting such immoral activities that could impact the young generation. Later, Kadu and at least a dozen of PJP activists were detained at the Bandra police station even as other supporters staged a sit-in outside its premises.
The PJP MLA said that if Tendulkar had not been conferred the Bharat Ratna, they would not have targeted him, adding that “money should not precede national interest”.

“If he wants to earn Rs 300 crore by promoting such things, then he should return the Bharat Ratna forthwith,” demanded Kadu outside Tendulkar’s home.
