Yellow Warning For 19 Districts; Nor’wester Relief For Odisha This Week
Bhubaneswar: Amid the prevailing heat wave condition across State, several districts of Odisha may get respite from the prevailing heatwave conditions as they are likely to experience thunderstorm today.
The Regional Meteorological Centre has predicted rain in several parts of the State from today.
The weather agency has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in 19 districts. The districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri districts today.
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Balasore, Bhadrak and Kendrapara, it added.
Temperature Forecast: Maximum temperature (Day temperature) likely to be slightly fall by 2-3°C during the next three days and no large change thereafter at many places over the districts of Odisha. Maximum temperature (Day temperature) very likely to be 40°C and more and above normal by 2-3°C at a few places over the districts of Odisha.
The weatherman said the thunderstorm will support the slight dip in mercury level at some places during the next three-four days.
On Sunday, Jharsuguda recorded the day’s highest of 43 degree Celsius followed by Boudh and Sambalpur at 42.5 degree Celsius and 42.4 degree Celsius respectively. The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 40 degree Celsius each, three degrees above the normal.
