Western Odisha virtually turns into a boiling cauldron
Bhubaneswar,June 12: Several parts of Western Odisha have virtually turned into a boiling cauldron with mercury hovering over 44 degree Celsius for the past few days at many places throwing the normal life out of gear.
In the past 24 hours Bolangir,Boudh,Jharsuguda, Bargarh and Sonepur the day temperature has touched 45 degree Celsius while in most other places in the Western Odisha the mercury has been hovering above 44 degree Celsius.
Both Bolangir and Bargarh have recorded the highest day temperature of 44.5 degree Celsius in the past 24 hours.
Met sources here said the hot weather and heat wave conditions likely to prevail in some districts of Odisha
Current meteorological condition indicated that there will be no large change in Maximum temperature (Day temperature) over the districts of Odisha during next five days
In most of the places the maximum temperature is likely to be above normal by 4-6 degree Celsius at a few places over the districts of Odisha during next 5 days.
Consequently, hot and uncomfortable weather is likely during the next 5 days and People are advised to take precautionary measures (avoid heat exposure, keep cool and avoid dehydration) while going outside during day time between 1100 hours to 1500 hours.
Met has already issued orange warning at a few places over the district of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj,Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Nayagarh, Cuttack and Khurda where heat wave to severe heat wave condition very likely to prevail for next few days
Heat wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the district of Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur,Puri, Met sources said and issued yellow warning for these districts.
