Thunderstorm May Occur In These Odisha Districts Today; IMD Predicts
Bhubaneswar: The regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here Wednesday forecast several districts of Odisha are likely to experience thunderstorm today, the weather office has also issued a yellow warning for these districts.
“Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Bolangir, Gajapati, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar districts,” the MeT has forecast.
“Thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at one or two places in Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Sonepur, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Sundargarh, Angul and Dhenkanal,” it added.
Occasional rain and hailstorms are also likely in some places. Heavy rainfall and hail will continue till May 6 in most of the districts in Odisha.
