In a shocking incident, A Sub Collector of Balasore, Kunal Sitaram Chouhan was brutally assaulted allegedly by the sand mining mafia at Dahapada under Sahadevkhunta police limits on Friday.
The incident has been reported from Sahadevkhunta Police limits area. The official driver of the sub-collector was also attacked and injured said reliable reports.
However, irked by the sudden checking, the sand mafia allegedly attacked Chouhan and his driver. The mafia hit his head with a stone seriously injuring him in the process.
The mafia have reportedly damaged the sub-collector’s official vehicle as well.
The Sub Collector was rescued by his PSO and rushed to the district headquarters hospital. He has sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment. Collector Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde and Balasore SP Sagarika Nath rushed to the DHH and met the injured Sub Collector.
Balasore SP has reached the hospital to take stock of Chouhan’s health condition.
