Sri Jagannath enclave project launched to provide land to various states for Guest house in Puri

Puri, Apr 6 :  A new environmental tourism project christened as “Sri Jagannath enclave” has been launched to provide land to various states for establishing guest houses in Puri along the Puri – Konark marine drive.

The plan has been passed by the development authority. The IDCO has been entrusted with the job of allocating land in the enclave.

Official sources said Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Punjab and West Bengal governments have requested the Odisha government to provide them land for establishing a guest house.

Recently West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee during her visit to Odisha had requested Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for land in the sea beach area to construct Bangla Bhawan.

Patnaik had announced allocation of two acres of land in Sipasarubali area close to Shamuka beach project.

Meanwhile, the Puri revenue administration has transferred 36 acres of prime land in Balukhand mouza located five kms away from Puri alongside the Puri Konark marine drive to IDCO land bank.

The land will be allocated to various states seeking to establish guest houses in Puri for visitors from their respective states.

Before allocation of land to the states, the infrastructures like roads, drain, power and water, public transport, a swimming pool, a helipad, shopping mall and multiplex will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs.68 crores.

Apart from various state governments ,the public sector undertakings and government entities, if interested will be provided land in the enclave,Puri Sub Collector Bhabataran Sahu said.
